This course will teach you the physiology of the central nervous system. You will study the anatomy and function of spinal nerves and learn how to use a standardized neurological assessment scale, such as the Glasgow Coma Scale(GCS). This course will also discuss the different types of diagnostic procedures used to evaluate cranial, spinal, and brain injuries.

You will then study the basic principles of unconscious patient care and learn to identify, observe, and record a patient's vital signs and level of consciousness. Infectious neurological diseases usually render a patient acutely ill. This course will discuss the different types of infectious neurological diseases, cranial nerve disorders, and degenerative neurological diseases. It will also teach you the medical and nursing management of seizures associated with cranial disorders, as well as the stages of treatment for degenerative neurological diseases.
